GENEVA, Switzerland – The Philippine Permanent Mission to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva announced today the arrival of its new Labor Attaché, Mr. Jesus Vicente H. Magsaysay II. Appointed to the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Geneva, Mr. Magsaysay assumed his post effective 22 July 2025.
Affectionately known as “Jobo” among colleagues, family, and friends, Labatt Magsaysay brings over fifteen years of distinguished government service across local and international postings.
His expertise is anchored in migrant worker welfare, including seven years of dedicated service to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
He previously served with commendation at the Migrant Workers Office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where he championed the rights and welfare of the Filipino community.
Labatt Magsaysay is an alumnus of the prestigious Ateneo de Manila University, holding both a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master in Public Management.
In his new role at the Philippine Mission in Geneva, Labatt Magsaysay will spearhead efforts to facilitate, promote, and protect the welfare and rights of OFWs across Switzerland.
His responsibilities will include liaising with Swiss authorities, international organizations, and Filipino communities to ensure robust support systems for migrant workers.

The Mission expressed confidence that Labatt Magsaysay’s leadership will further strengthen the Philippines’ proactive engagement on labor migration issues within the international fora in Geneva.
